SAVANNAH - Clair Goslee Phillips, 68 died January 28, 2011 in the loving care of her husband Gene Phillips and Hospice Savannah. She was born September 15, 1942 in Savannah - the first of 5 daughters to Betty Sloat and Maurice Goslee.
Clair grew up in Savannah, Georgia and graduated from Savannah High 1960 where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband Graham 'Gene' Phillips, Sr.

Clair and Gene married in 1961 and moved to Clemson while Gene attended Clemson University. Once in Clemson, Clair went to work at the Clemson Athletic department for the Clemon Tiger's Coach Frank Howard and her love of Clemson football was born! Upon graduation '65, Clair and Gene moved to Greenville, SC where 'Graham' Gene Phillips, Jr. and Ashley Lynne Phillips Brett were born and raised. Clair was an avid football fan, enjoyed family, reading, traveling, their German Schnauzers, her house plants and music in particular Amazing Grace played on the bag pipes!

Surviving are her husband, Graham Gene Phillips, Sr. of Savannah; her mother Betty S. Goslee of Savannah; her son and daughter-in-law Peri and Graham Gene Phillips, Jr. of Atlanta; her daughter and son-in-law Ashley Lynne and Paul Brett of Greenville, SC; her sisters Betty G. Thomas, Lynn G. Gergacs, Gail G. Dugger, and Kay G. Williamson of Savannah; grandchildren Grayson Graham and Ian Parker Phillips of Atlanta; Emma Lynne and Ethan William Brett of Greenville and six nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Monday, January 31 at 11am.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made in Clair's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter or Hospice Savannah.
